The yard is three hundred (300) feet fronting 13th Street about 550 feet from Wasena Terrace and about 300 feet fronting on Riverside Blvd. in the rear. In addition, a garden of about one (1) acre on the south side fronting on Riverside and Cleveland Avenue. Land purchased May 7, 1907 at a cost of $10,000 and other considerations. Moved old residence across the street in 1906. Started present residence in March 1907. Cornerstone laid August 10, 1907. Competed in October 1908 and moved in October 1908 before it was finished. Cost of land, grading, house, stable, and two-room servants house $91,573.86. Stable burned in 1917. Garage, hot house and servant's quarters erected near old location at a cost of about $13,000. Numerous improvements made since including trees, additions, bathrooms, etc. at a cost of over $80,000 in the 35 years. This land consisted of over 4 acres.
Basement - Entrance storage room, two (2) coal bins, laundry, furnace room, large drying room for laundry, large storage room, a cold room, two (2) small storage rooms, a large room, and complete bathroom which was built for servants but never used. In addition, a half bathroom and large hall and a number of closets.
First Floor - Living room, 20 by 39, large hall with six (6) closets and a half bathroom; parlor, 16 by 20 feet finished in mahogany; dining room in at the end for flowers, serving pantry, lock pantry, large kitchen, storage pantry, servant's dining room, breakfast room, back hall and porch and numerous closets.
Second Floor - Six bedrooms, two sleeping porches, large hall, four (4) bathrooms, shower bath between two (2) sleeping porches, numerous closets for all rooms.
Third Floor - Four (4) bedrooms, one complete large bath, large play room that can be made into a bedroom or two and large storage room for trunks, etc. all with large closets.
Attic - Over the third floor with steps to the roof.
Garage - Room for four (4) cars with complete apartment over it for chauffeur, consisting of two (2) rooms, three closets, complete bathroom and shower and cedar closet.
Servant's House - In the yard with two (2) rooms and a bath.
Hot House - Adjoining the garage
Chicken House - brick but never used except for tools.
House insured for $50,000, furniture $35,000. Airplane insurance $100,000. Have liability and other insurance also. Furniture purchased in 35 years ran over $50,000. The $80,000 consists of everything spent in 35 years in the way of fences, grading, trees, additional bathrooms, sun parlors, breakfast room, painting inside and out includes $5700 after a fire, shrubbery, gardens, etc.
Original purchase not quite four (4) acres but alley 20 feet by 500 feet closed and added to the property, approved by the court, making something over four (4) acres.

The old house was moved when the property belonged to the Exchange Building Co. which I owned, otherwise some dates might be confusing. The house still stands at this date, occupied by Mr. Blackwell (across the street on Wasena Terrace; 2nd house from 13th Street).
